My husband & I are going to the Cape for a family reunion (his). I have only been there once before, on Christmas Eve. Not a good time if you love the cape from afar. My g grandpa was a litehouse keeper at one of the Provensetown litehouses. I really got off topic, anyway, would love to get in contact with model rrs from the area, especially ho, also live railroads. I love the Cape Cod Canal RR bridge. Want to see it live in action. Have just watched it via weg cam. Thanks for any input. [:D] Love this forum. You guys are so much help.

PS we are going June 16 thro 29.
My family has Cape Cod ancestors going back to 1620. My great grandfather was born on Long Point in Provincetown in 1851. There are three lighthouses near Provincetown: Long Point, Wood End, and Race Run. The last New Haven train to call on Provincetown was in 1960, I saw this line when I was a kid.

You might want to look into this. They have everything from simple excursions to an elegant dinner train.
There’s also a nice lighthouse at Chatham and at or near Marconi beach that’s worth seeing. Very picturesque.

Cape Cod is a fantastic place to be.
The lift bridge is awesome (Try taking a boat tour underneath it). I’m not sure how much you know about it and its operation, but it is operated by the Bay Colony Railroad in use for the Tra***rain. This train is rather vital to the Cape, hauling it’s garbage away to a processing plant in Southern MA.
I’m in Boston’s Northwest Burbs, so you’d probably be a bit far for a visit. I, however, highly recommend Maine Trains in Chelmsford, MA. It is quite a ways from the Cape (also NW suburbia), but the owner and the shop are awesome.
Judy there is a modeller in that area i believe, he does have a website and is very friendly
www.mrhobby.com if that doesnt work try ww.mrhobbies.com his name is Mike Rose and i have contacted him when i was in the area before, as my girl friend lives in the boston area and she too goes to the Cape from time to time.
