Treasured Toys in Salem NH is having a close out sale. The owner is retiring. I bought 3 freight cars today for 25% off. Sad to see them go as they have a good selection of Trains and scenery material.
Always sad to see a small business close, especially one that has done a good job and supplied what the customers wanted.
Pass through your area on one of the routes to the wife’s ansestoral home. I haven’t done the trip for nearly 10 years. However, now that I have a little more time, when I do plan a trip that way, I plan to look up hobby shop locations and plan the route accordiingly.
Good luck,
Richard

I don’t know if you are aware but there are several other hobby shops in your area.
Perkins Road Depot in Londonderry, NH. Arlington Station in Manchester, NH. Hobby Emporium in Tyngsboro, MA. Maine Trains in Chelmsford, MA. The first two are very small shops in the guys homes and the last two are full time well stocked shops. Good luck.
I checked their web site http://www.treasuredtoys.com/default.htm and they seem to be exclusively Lionel and MTH as far as trains go. There’s no mention of closing on the web site, but that may not mean much.
Saddening to read and I empathize with you and modelers in your area. I didn’t think Tampa would lose it’s last “brick & mortar” model railroad store, but we did earlier this year. I sure dislike having to rely on the web and train shows. But we have to adapt.
Take care [8)]
Thanks for the comment, Yes I know about those other shops in this area. As a matter of fact Perkins rd Depot is just down the street from Me.
Oh yeah, Arlington Station in Manchester has also closed its doors.
I have never been to Perkins Rd. What are their hours?
Thanks
Sam
HI: Dave Barlow [ Perkins Road Depot ] sells out of his home; works days, so his selling hours are evenings and weekends. He may be attending the big annual Concord HO Model RR Club Train Show at Everett Arena, Loudon Road, just off I-93, Exit 14E, on Sunday, the 11th. The Club also runs a ’ white elephant ’ table there, where modelers can bring their surplus mrr items to sell, with a small percentage of each sale going to club, for running the table. Your truly made out very well at Hooksett Lions Club May 15th Train Show W/E table; hope I can do the same in Concord, for a bit more layout capital. Tim Bartlett [ Gandy Dancer Hobbies ] also sell mrr products out of his home and has roughly the same selling hours. He’s located off Route 106, in Loudon, NH. He may also be attending Concord Show on the 11th. TTFN…papasmurf
P.S. Both the above folks are in their respective local phone books & available thru Directory Assistance. Didn’t post their phone numbers here without having their prior permission.
