An interesting, well written travel log! And great pictures!

I took the Empire Builder from Milwaukee to Portland in December 2007. The run along the Columbia River was spectacular.

At the time first class passengers were treated to wine tasting in the dining car. I won a bottle of wine because I was able to answer the question, when did Amtrak begin operations.
