Trip To the Model Railway show (pics)

G’day guys, today i went to the brisbane miniature railway show it was a hoot, only problem was, my camera batteries died, so i didn’t get as many pictures as i wanted to [:(] there where many Australian orientated layouts, as well as a large Cajon Pass layout which had 60 + car trains and 4 F units/ 2 huge Steamers… anyway here are some pictures…

thats a replica of a place on the suburban network here in Brisbane.

same as above ^

this a QR national Patch from a Ex Freight Australia loco.

a loaded coal train crossing cattle creek

Queensland Rail SMU this is the most recent type to be found on the rails today.

i hope you enjoyed the pictures [:)]

james.

You’ve wet my appetite James I’m going tomorrow. Great pics mate. Regards Les

It’s always nice to see pictures that others have taken of our hobby. I get to see layouts that other hobbiest have put a lot of time and effert into. It also gives me some good ideas for my own layout. In other words thanks for taking the time to post the pictures, there are a lot of other people here at this forum that enjoy them too, they just dont take the time to say so. keep up the great posts.

no problems guys, i appreciate the feedback

Hey Oz Jim,

I went Saturday, and sorry compared to other years it was VERY ordinary! Very small and the layouts have all been there last year, the shops all brought the very bare necessities and difficult to find what you want.

I really wasn’t impressed (Can you guess!). Always good to see other ideas but I’ve seen them last year.

Sorry OZ Jim!

I went to the NMRA Australian Division (www.nram.org.au) and I got some very good ideas there! Better than the show!

I think the show really needed some organisation, it took a long time to get into the place and the prices in the food court didn’t match the board. Maybe they sorted that out on the Sunday?!

Regard,

NG

i thought the prices where expensive (food wise) but austral modelcraft had those P2K for under $100 which i couldnt pass up.

and i didnt get to go last year so it was new to me, i remember in 2004 trainworld had a bigger set up then this year, which was a shame, overall it was plain but not going last year i hadnt seen what was there.

i will go back next year and will continue to visit, in 1 or 2 years i will have a stand there, and maybe a layout… who knows.

funny tho’ we could have passed each other and never have known…

Nice Pictures [:D]
