aw man…You had to mention that[:-^] I’ll have to check it out.For some reason I didn’t think about the loctite thing too!
Good luck , you can never have too many big centuries[:D] nI just got luckey an added another proto RS18 to my trainshed, figured that I would spread the joy as it were.

I have used Loktite red many times on plastic gears to axles that I felt weren’t a tight enough fit and could loosen or on problem slipping out of guage. They have been running for over 10 years and still no problem. Wash or wipe the parts down w/ solvent or alcohol to remove any oil or grease. If the Red doesn’t hold epoxy sure will.
BTW, aren’t these the Kato drives?
No they aren’t , the big century line weer the frist loco’s that Stewart put out after they stopped dealing with re buying Kato drives for their production. Bueler can and flywheels, they now design and produce their own drive components.Good tip on the red loktite , I’ll try it myself next time I run intoa similar problem. [tup]

I’ve been looking for a C630 on Ebay for about a year now without much luck! I saw one a while ago that seemed perfect, it was even undecorated then I read more and saw “ships to US addresses only”![sigh] Once I finally find one and buy it I plan to make it into a CN C630M, I already have the kit for the Dofasco trucks.[:D]

This sounds intriging, who makes the Dofasco truck kit. i have a CP rail one that I did up about gosh about five years ago now, I’d love to get a set of dofasco’s for it.Just a tip eimail teh seller on those type of listings, if you offer to pay the full shipping a lot of the times the guys will ship to us. I’ve one a few things from guys like that as long as you ask first and they are aggreeable to it ( and you win the auction )

Thanks for the tip! Here’s a link to the company that makes the Dofasco sideframes. The only draw back is that in order to shorten the wheel base of the trucks you have to lose power to the inner two axles. I have heard people say they did the conversion and managed to keep all the axles powered but they didn’t say how they did it!

Thanks for the link,I figure these loco’s are fairly heavy loosing two powered axles shouldn’t be a big deal . I have a mostly level layout anyway without much in teh way of grades, worse come to worse I can tack on and RS18 or two[:D]
