I was flipping through a back issue of MR from 1998 (I think, it’s been a while now) and Iwas found that section where a reader’s letter would be featured for a whole page. It was a woman discussing her husband’s move back into the hobby. I was really shocked when she said that his answer to what he would model was the Conrail now NS line through Callicoon, Cochecton, and Narrowsburg NY. This is very interesting to me as that is where I railfan. I thought maybe he just grew up here but later she mentioned that they live close enough that he can hear the horn at a crossing and drive down to the lines in time to watch it go by. If anyone know how I can contact this local modeler i would appreciate it. I’ll try to dig through the pile of magazines on my bedroom floor and find a name. Thank you all for your help.

You may try your LHS as one thing I do know is when one of a LHS’s customers is featured, “He’s the talk of the town”.

I had already tried my LHS but you reminded there is a shop in Lake Ariel PA that giving his location would be about the same distance as the other shop or maybe closer. I’ll have to make some time and get over there. Thanks for the idea.

You can always call the CIA or FBI and request for them to hunt this railfan down. If that does not work go on tv and put a search notice out to all of us. LOL HeHeHeHe
Your local library probably has phone directories for your area, maybe for your entire state. That is a good place to start. If you are allergic to libraries, try using one of the internet people finder searches. If you have a name and a city then Dogpile has a white pages function that, given time, might produce some street numbers and phone numbers.

You might also try sending a letter to MR asking that they forward your name, address and phone on to the guy, and asking him to get in touch with you. They might still have that info on file if they published the letter.
