I have a 1957 PRR Adlake Lantern that I am trying to restore to operational use. I was surfing the net trying to find some suppliers of parts and havent had much luck. Can anyone refer me? I need to a get a globe and a burner an I was wondering if anyoen on here has had experince with a company. Thanks!
Not trying to be rude, but have you tried www.adlake.com? (AKA Adams and Westlake). Since they still make most of the lanterns, I would think they should be able to provide parts. . . . .
I know you can get globes from www.lehmans.com. Don’t know if they can get an Adlake burner although they sell Deitz burners.
I have to admit, I am stareing at this 50 year old lantern and the last thing I expected was to have the company still around let alone, have a website. I didnt see a listing for parts but sent them a email anyway asking. I tried the other and didnt see anything jumping out at me. Tonight when I get home, I will be doing some more research to find out more. I was out this weekend with a bunch of railfans for New Years at our favorite spot and some of them mentioned different web sites. Of course, if hadnt been so plowed[D)] into my bottle of cheap rum, I would have thought to write them down. Doh.
The “other” site- Lehmans.com is a place in Ohio that caters to Amish and Mennonite families and sells a lot of oil lamps, propane fridges, wood cookstoves, etc. Might be worth a long distance phone call to see if they can get parts or know of a source other than Adlake. I am sure many of their customers are using old lanterns and need parts on occasion. If I remember, I’ll check my paper catalog tonight to see if there are any parts listed. That catalog is more comprehensice than the online version.
