TSU-750 refusing to run smooth on DC power

I was able to get my k-36 that I installed a TSU-750 in to run reliably on DCC. But I’d like to get it running DC as the club I am with is a DC setup. Anyway, I have played with every setting imaginable and the engine still starts moving at 20 miles per hour. It just refuses to run slower and as I bring the throttle down it’ll start to stutter and turn on and off (sound wise). I have DC mode enabled as well. I have two black stone engines with TSU-750s and they can run at a slow speed on DC. The only difference I see between this problematic engine and the blackstones is the much larger mabuchi motor that the problem child has, haha. I would be very appreciative of any guidance!
