I decided that I would go ahead and pick up the Tsunami BW1000 Decoder for my Stewart F9A. But I ran into a problem with wiring the lights into the decoder. I am replacing the stewart stock light and I wanted to wire my headlights in as per BN Prototype. Dual Vertical Mars light with the red on the bottom and dual horizontal headlights in the door housing. While I have the parts to install them, I do not know if the dual LED Headlights can be wired in together so they turn on at the same time. I was unable to find anything on this. I checked every forum on the internet and found nothing about hooking 2 LEDs up on the same wire.
Some electrical expertise is greatly needed and appreciated.
2 LEDs in parallel, each with a resistor. They will draw double the current of a single LED but a white LED with a 1K resistor runs just under 10ma, which would mean 20ma on the function wire - still within limits.
Well, you get 4 light outputs with the Tsunami…why not have the red light it’s own function, and the mars on it’s own as well? After that, it is all in the programming on how you want the lights to behave.
It sounds liek there are two Mars lights, one red and one white, PLUS 2 ‘normal’ headlights. I suppose you could put each of the headlights on its own function, using all 4, and using function remapping to make both headlights go on at the same time, but then you’re out of luck for independent number board lights, or somehting else.
