Isn’t today Whatever Wednesday?

This is the work of my grandson positioning his favorite orange tow truck, preparing to dump a problematic pickup truck into the river.

Whenever members of our family visit, I go down to my layout after e drone leaves to see what mischief has been wrought on the layout. Chief culprits include my son and grandson.

Rich, here’s one for your Whatever Wednesday. Several years ago, my daughter (probably only seven or eight years old at the time) gave me this rock with a smiley face that she drew on it for the layout. I plan to incorporate it into the scenery when I finish this area.

I’m not even sure she would remember this rock, but I sure do.

One time my younger granddaughter visited and asked to go into the train room. I was busy, so told her not to touch any rolling stock as the electrics were not switched on.

She had been in the train room a good length of time when she returned.
“You didn’t touch any trains did you?” I asked.
“No Papa,” came the reply.

Later after she had gone home I went into the train room. True, no rolling stock had been touched. Every road vehicle had been moved!

We’ve been out today, crossing over bits of the old Roman Road of ‘Dere Street’, where it traverses the Northern Pennines in the Scottish Borders.

During last weeks WPF, since I don’t like having one of a Loco on it’s little lonesome, I got 9559 out of her box - sister loco to 9554 (Genesis 2 of 2)

They were at work for a couple of days and are shown tied-down in the Team-track.
Whilst 9554 is brand new, 9559 was obtain used (as new) from Trainz, whom I have found to be very good Exporters to deal with.

The final photo is more realistic.

I uploaded this photo from Flickr; William Walker TheDoubleWLife July 18, 2023 and would like to say thank you sir, for sharing this photo and that no Copyright Infringement is intended, but I did not want to reproduce it here, without your including your Captions.

“The Point of No Return: PRLX Executive SD70MAC’s 9559, 9554 & 9561”

“While this awesome trio isn’t at the front of a coal train like anyone would love to photograph, they are unfortunately at the front of the line for the scrappers torch.

“Without the chance to be purchased for an extension of life, these and many more SD70MAC’s have been/will be purchased by Progressive Rail Services to be cut apart and scavenged for any useful assets”.

But they will live on, in HO scale at least, Paul.

Two “mini” tank cars built from Round House kits last night. Haven’t had a chance to pit them on the layout yet.

They’re interesting to see, thank you.
I have 5 kits of these waiting to be assembled, 2 Walthers and 3 Roundhouse.
Two of the latter have been very badly attempted and will require some resuscitation to return them to Good Order - if I can.

I don’t know when the last ones disappeared from off the Rails or were modified, but I just like them.
