Crouse with rode a locomotive?

Gather together the grieving friends and families of those who died or were injured when the train hit the flatbed trailer…stir in a gaggle of greedy lawyers…ignore the truth…and continue to allow John Q. Stupid to disbelieve that trains are dangerous…and you have continuing accidents that are “always the railroad’s fault” because the “train came out of nowhere.” Ya’ can’t win…

Midland Police Sargent Jim Crouse with rode a locomotive?

I remember once driving around Flagstaff, AZ, a town I didn’t know. I came out of the Northern Arizona Uni campus and found myself behind a car at a set of traffic lights. I then looked and found that I had stopped on a grade crossing. Realizing what a mistake I had made I went to reverse off the grade crossing only to see a car right up behind me preventing me from reversing. And then another car drew up alongside me. I realized that 1) I was an idiot 2) Flagstaff is a town full of stupid people 3) the grade crossing was very badly designed.

BLESS UNION PACIFIC, THEY TRY AND TRY TO GET JOHN PUBLIC TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY PRESENTING ABOUT RAILROAD CROSSING SAFETY AND OTHER RELATED S,UBJECTS. BUT THERE IS ALWAYS ONE JOHN PUBLIC THAT IS NOT LISTENING. THEN HERE COMES —THE TRAIN WAS AT FAULT, REPEAT TRAN AT FAULT, ETC.

Why has nothing (that I’ve seen) been written about the “driver” of the flatbed trailer (truck)? Did the vehicle drive itself into the path of the moving train (with crossing protection working normally)? I’ve hit 3 cars and a backhoe in 28+ years of running commuter trains…Do we just feel sorry for him, or was some “Texas justice” administered on the scene?

Well let’s see, at least where I live it’s pretty much become a 3rd world country anymore populated by people who don’t know how to drive nor understand the rules of the road, but it’s ok let 'em all in, what could possibly go wrong? ( Ask Boston).

Sorry, a couple too many drinks and maybe inappropriate comments.
