I’m curious as to why Amtrak’s rate is so much higher than other railroads.
Is or is this not the statistic used in determining the recipients of the now-discontinued Harriman safety awards, which no one but NS seemed to be able to win? It seems strange to see NS behind UP, CSX, and BNSF. I haven’t kept track, but if CP’s bad showing can be linked somehow to EHH policies, that might not be good for him.
