thanx ya’all[:)]

I know that UP#4141 was for some special train and then it was to be put to use in regular service. I don’t know if it is in regular service yet.[%-)]

UP 4141 is suppose to be running on the UP system, not any piticular part…I dont know about the other heritage units,I thot they were only going to run on that part of the system the original RR ran on…(except SP) which had a bigger territory that the others…Somebody out there may know more than I do tho…Danny

After its debut it ran from Fort Worth to Houston with the heritage units for a while. The slpit them up but I believe the 4141 still runs that route only. I have seen it in Fort Worth twice now. Although someone snapped at shot of it in OK last Tuesday.

The 4141 is currently in captive service between Houston and Fort Worth- aside from a few special trips outside this run- one to Odessa,TX for the town centennial, one to Claremore, OK for an OLS presentation, and one down to Corpus Christi- the engine stays on it’s regular Houston-Fort Worth trains. I believe it is going to stay captive to this line as long as the railroad history exhibit is open at the George Bush Museum and Library at College Station (since that is what the unit advertises)- after the the exhibit closes then the unit may be released for system wide service.

The 1982 has been running the old MP corridor on the former CEI for some time now- once again with a few diversions- on the IHOYC/ZYCHO trains. The IHOYC runs via Dupo to make St. Louis pick ups and set outs, while the southbound runs via Mt. Vernon and Benton. The cycle time is usually 2-3 days depending on how the corridor is running. It always arrives and leaves here in Houston under cover of darkness- likewise with Chicago. Hope this helps you out.
