Alyth yards in Calgary is supposed to be getting a bulk on the rebuilds, as our 4 axle switcher fleet has pretty much disappeared with this program.

UP seams to have a head start as their modified engines are already being used and evaluated. Of course first doesn’t mean best as each railroad has their own idea on how to best arrive at a cleaner emission engine.

Too bad they did not kept the previous designation of the loco and adding " eco" like SD45eco instead of SD30ECO , I guess I am already too old …

I work at Alyth diesel shop, & haven’t seen them yet, & wondering who gets to repair them ?
