URGENT AIRBRUSH INFO

I am using a Badger 200 airbrush and whenever I losen the nozzle tip to get a wider angle of spray, paint comes through the hole in the jar cap. What’s wrong? It worked fine two days ago.

Have you checked if there could be some dried-up paint on the inside of the nozzle ?
That could be causing air to flow back along the needle to the cup, causing paint to bubble out.

too much air pressure

I checked. Are the little holes on the inside of the nozzle supposed to be where the air flows? Does the air come out from around the hole that the needle goes through? If so, I believe that lupo is right. I am soaking it in water now, since the paint is water-based.

You may want to soak your airbrush in denatured alcohol or 90%rubbing alcohol,it worked well for me to loosen dried polly scale.

Try soaking it in paint thinner, or IPA. It cuts through faster than water and it won’t hurt the air brush parts. Even if I use water based paints, I always clean up with IPA (isopropyl alcohol), usually 70% works, or try 91%, both good and both cheap.

I fixed it. I was soaking in warm water and a little soap.It softened the pain to the point that I was able to remove most of it. The extemely smooth surface of the parts also helped the removal process. It works fine now. There was a lot of paint in it. Thank you all for your help.
