User Name Meaning?

Some of us have weird user names, is there any signifigance to them? I know mine isn’t weird at all, but I’ll start with mine.

TrainFreak409-

Train - Duh, do I need to explain?

Freak - I usually freak out around trains (in a good way), and start talking in a way my family doesn’t understand.

409 - One of my favorite Beach Boys song. Great roller skating music.

Your turn.

Chewie8han

thought it would be funny if Chewie got hungry one day and ate Han. Han was a goober anyway.

SpaceMouse–Walter Lanz comic book character from the 60’s.

IronPenguin - I do Ironman triathlons (8 since turning 50).

The “penguin” part is a running thing: “penguin” runners are slow, but serious runners. My Ironmans are slow ,16 hours plus - a last hour finisher. But I finish.

jc5729…because I’m one degree off of tangent. Really…If you know how railroad curvature is layed out in chords of 100 feet, by so many degrees offset from tangent, the actual radius in feet can be determined by dividing 5729 by the degree of curvature. i.e. it is the radius in feet of a 1 degree curve.

Mine came basicly from frustration. When I signed up, I wanted to use my first name. So I
tried Dave, Dave1, Dave2… and so on, but they were taken.
I finially said forget it and tried dave9999 and it worked. Not very original, but
I was trying to get on so I could ask a question. I have thought of changing it, but
I have had it too long and people know me by it now. Dave

CSXGUY:

CSX-duh
guy-i’m a guy

500th post! Yay!

Well, I reside in the Los Angeles aka West Coast and do my SP modeling in S scale, enough said [8D]

Dave

Orsonroy: two typos in various magazines. “Our son Ray” became “Orson Ray”, and “Ray Breyer and his horse…” became “Roy Breyer…”

Lots of people got a kick out of the typos, but only my dad actually calls me Orson…

Ironrooster from a book title “Riding the Iron Rooster” by Paul Theroux . It’s about railroads in China. It’s all caps because I fatfingered the Caps Lock key instead of the shift key.
When I tried to change it I could not access my profile (my password was all caps also). Eventually, I realized what I had done, but then found you can’t change user names …
So it stays.[:)]
Enjoy

Selector- first because I started off in old Centurion battle tanks, and the first drill in the turret when coming up to battle readiness is ensuring the armament selector lever on the gunner’s controller is in the ‘off’ position.

Later, when I decided to change my work in the Canadian Forces, I undertook training in Personnel Selection, among other things do do with Industrial/Organizational Psych. At one point, several years back, I was responsible for Selection Policy for the CF.

“Selector” tied both career-paths together. [8D]

Simon 1966

Any self respecting Brit that has an interest in football (real football) will know what the year 1966 means. I was only 5 at the time and don’t really remember it, but sincerly hope that England will hoist the World Cup at least one more time in my lifetime.

Vampire - because I mostly come out at night… mostly.

06archerd
06 the year i graduate high school
archer- my last name
d- my first name initial, Daniel!!!

gbailey, because (choose one):

a) It’s a Wonderful Life (that has trains in it !)
b) My name is Jimmy Stewart !!
c) My name really is George Bailey !!!

TWhite–no mystery there. First initial, last name. I was going to be clever and use something like YellowstoneM4, but the day I signed on, I wasn’t feeling very creative. Besides, if I changed now, I’d lose all those cool stars above my posting number, right?
Tom [:P][:P]

Hehe, I could use that one. I’m faired skined, and burn with SPF 30 sunblock. I don’t like the light at all.[:p]

Well My name is Ken Mackay, and I really like New Zealand Rail NZRMac!!

Would love to model NZR but it’s mostly 1/64 scale and all kit set locos etc.

I have trouble putting easy kits together!!

Ken.

Cheese3- Well I really like Cheese and 3 because cheese and cheese2 were taken

[#ditto]
Tried all the names I liked/wanted which were taken (some by people who have posted once and never heard from again) and then discovered by misspelling I could get something.

Unfortunately everyone assumes the Texas part is more significant than the Zephyr part. While I think Texas has a great heritage for her citizens to be proud of, and I did spend some time at UT in Austin, I totally disown it. Unfortunately the C&S train that ran from Denver along the front range has Texas in its name… Colorado Zephyr would be better. Hmmmm I wonder if I can change my user name?
