Very Interesting Christmas Spiral Helix with a Dogbone at top and Bottum

This is Lionel Polar Express but its so well done and clever I thought Model Railroader people would enjoy these vidios. With 3 rail reversing loops are no problem ( the center rail can only connect to the center rail) and it has non derailing switches on the dogbones at the top and bottum af the helix. The helix is a spiral, all visible diminishing radius like a Christmas tree. It’s on ogaugerr. com, Then 3 rail O-Gauge Trains. Find thread titled OK Genuises…how come one of us didn’t do this. Sorry I’m not near good enough with computers to give a direct link.

Nothing like 3-rail O scale going like a rocket to bring in thoughts of under the Christmas tree layouts!!

Thanks for sharing - I enjoyed it.

Enjoy

Isn’t it either illegal or immoral to have that much fun? [(-D]

Boy that was great. I would never be able to take it down after Christmas!

I like it. It is simple, yet entertaining.

That’s a neat holiday set up. Beats just a circle of track under the tree.

On another note, where does one store something that big in the off season?

Beautiful layouts! Just needs a nice furnature grade table to make it a perminant set up. I could never take it down after the holidays. Would be a great “pick me up” after a bad day at work no matter what time of year it is. Just need to have the Josh Groben song playing in the back ground! Merry Christmas everybody! A clever approach in concept and design. It is even representative of a scene from the movie. However, I have the feeling that the rapid up-down-race-around scenario of running on this layout would quickly grow just as tiresome as for any common Xmas roundy-round set-up after watching it for 10, or so, minutes.

Great layout --[tup]

Wow! I guess my circle of track around the ol’ Christmas Tree needs some work. And I agree with the other posters here: I could never take that down.

Great Job !
