There was a similar article in the L.A. Times. Both newspapers - unlike the Trains News Wire (1 for 3 above) - spelled the name of the wreck location correctly. There’s an S in Chatsworth.

Just think about it,a simple mechanical derail,connected to the red board,would have prevented this disaster…The same with the Ricky Gates disaster,years ago…Richard Wotkun

well, think about it. that $200 mil. cap per wreck should have had an inflation rider in it. the same thing happened to the province of Newfoundland when it sold most of the power from the Grand Falls power project to Quebec at a fixed rate just before power rates skyrocketed. -arturo eh?

I don’t know where the guy got the idea about the mechanaical derail. 99% of the time the mechanical derail is ripped loose when hit with any speed by a locomotive. Though how a derail fits into this accidnet is byond me.
As to the money, everyone wants a free ride of life, and when they can’t get they whine. My heart bleeds…

For all the trouble and setbacks that Veolia caused Metrolink, I hope they are one of the parties being listed as a defendant.
