How did you like Portland?

Wow Cody wasn’t joking about having a train to catch! I hope you guys enjoyed your trip on the Talgo. When I was young I had the privilege of riding the Cascade Talgo when it was first being tested for use between Eugene and Seattle. I live in Oregon City, the Cascade’s first stop south of Portland, so I ride it as much as I can. It is also the subject of many of my rail-fan pictures.

I had a great time at the train show and I really appreciate everyone from across the country that was able to come out here. I hope you all had a great visit to Portland!

To Cody & the team Great job on the National Train show. Would have loved to been there in person but Parts 1 & 2 will half to do for now. Hope to see you at Train Fest.

A lot of great products to look forward too. Thanks MR for keeping us abreast!

Great report with a lot of good information! Thanks for offering this service.

When new product is introduced, ie engines, rolling stock, buildings, etc, would you give the scale in the description. Thanx

Another great job! Only need to add one thing, PART 3! Really, we want more.

Thanks so enjoy the videos. See ya at train fest

Nice to see that Rick Selby is still in the hobby.

As always a great report on the products, people and layouts at the national meeting. The free-mo layouts seem to be growing each year, is there any limit to their size? Great show Cody, thanks.

Hi Cody, It was really cool, to meet you the MMR staff and Pelle Soeberg, My wife teased me by saying " So,your going to meet "The Grand Pooba?’ referring to Pelle, by throwing a water buffalo reference from the Flintstones, she really likes his modeling work, I wish I had more time to chat with you but I knew you were really busy at the Convention and the national train show, you should bring your family out here for a vacation and enjoy what Portland has to offer, hope to talk to you soon.

One of the best episodes of a train show. Something to please all the nay-sayers of part 1…way to come through for all of us Model Railroading fans. Exciting new stuff!

Cody, Great train show with alot of new products coming out in all scales. Why do guys never come to Dallas, or Ft. Worth area. We have a very nice convention center in both Dallas, and Ft. Worth, Tx. Sure would be nice to have the national show here at least ne time, I would definitly go. Cannot afford to travel so far away to attend. Great show.

Well done Cody. I enjoyed your personal interaction with the vendors. Hope your train was on time.

Rick Selby siting, nice catch Cody!

neat stuff but the cost are more than my yearly budget for this hobby . The costs continue to sky rocket what am I to do ? What ever happen to the detail it yourself. What nscalers need is asound for engines !

Cody talked way too fast during these interviews.

Cody, This is the first time in my now 50 years of model railroading that I have been able to “go” to a NMRA Show. I am truly amazed at what has come along from the days we “had to make it ourselves” if you wanted it at all. Wow! And Portland is probably the last time in my life time a NMRA Convention will be out here on the Left Coast… I’ve never joined the NMRA because the emphasis has usually been on the Mid West and East Coast; or, I’ve been working for a living and couldn’t afford to travel to one. I’m going to now search for “Part One” and reconsider my ignorance! Thanks for bringing me up to speed! Thanks to the film and editing crews, as well. Outstanding job!

youngters are getting priced out modelrailroading cost are going up way to high, not for kides anymore.no wonder they are not coming in to the hobby.
