Video: Bachmann Trains HO scale Schnabel car

Just because it will not fit on my layout or fit my modeling ideas, doesn’t take away from the fact that this is an impressive model.

Bachmann has out done itself with this one. Would be a great display model for me. To modern for my layout. Great video MR.

I’ve seen one of these monsters in action, both loaded and unloaded. The HO model looks realistic enough for the average modeler. Also have seen pictures of these cars running equipment for Ontario Hydro moving equipment that was just too large for anything “standard”.

Thanks for the action!

fab model BUT too big 4 my lo

Very impressive car. To bad that trhe car doesn’t fit in my time frame otherwise I’d purchased one.

Saw a video on You Tube and Googled it. Impressive. This is one massive piece of railroad rolling stock. I like it.

An excellent model.Very realistic looking piece of equipment.

Thank you M. Hediger, it is a pleasure to have you present model railroad products.

What a useless item for 99% of model railroads. Questions: 1) Is your layout big enough to run this? 2) Do you have any idea how to run the special move that this thing requires on the prototype? If “no” to either one … you don’t need this car.

wow, amazing equipment !

I thought that the car would look as if it was be audomated is some way.

Great model which I have had for some time now.

Will cause some head scratching when run as a special into a normal/planned operating schedule and necessitates other trains to get out of the way.

By it nature it is going to be route restricted so 22" curves will inevitably cause overhang issues just like to real ones do!

That thing is HUGE! I’d like to see the real thing in action! Now I wonder just where these operate? I live in the Pacific Northwest, in the Willamette Valley right on the UP mainline between Portland and Salem. Hmmm… Love it, wish it was in “N”.

Nice looking model overall. It’s great to see a willingness to model something unique from a major manufacturer like Bachmann. Looks like a great way to test your trackwork too, passing 32 wheels over points and frogs in rapid succession!

Very interesting model. The model builders are really trying to supply stuff for the hobby that is interesting. However it doesn’t fit my time frame. Would like to see one in action in the real world. I wonder how many there are.

Excellent model. You would probably see that operating once or twice in a lifetime in most areas. Awesome for a display or collection piece.

Who runs this monster. I looks like the cargo is a marine diesel for a container ship.

Looks like a great model. Most layouts are cursed with far too tight curving. On a true scale curvature of about six feet it would be fantastic, otherwise “not a goer”.

would have been nice to have seen without the load.

Very Very cool
