Video: Broadway Limited Imports HO scale Y6b

Outstanding tribute to the N&W shops and their original creation.

Great model but the whistle needs a bit of tweaking… or amplification.

Excelent model!!!, I have Y6 b B&L, the best locomotive in my layout

AWSOME PULLING POWER

Whistle sounds a bit unusual, but the model looks great.

Can you make the headlight so it doesn’t do that Mars Light effect?

This was an informative and simple video clip, watching till the end was definitely worth while seeing that 54 car pull.

Makes me wish I modelled in HO.

Nice panorama shot of the layout; but you could have shown more from that angle. Seldom seen from that perspective, & you shortened the video at the best time…
Oh well…I’ll get over it.

This is an impressive little machine, but too big for my small short line railroad.
Perhaps someone will produce a small locomotive for a lightly built branch or short line, like a C&NW 4-6-0 or a Wabash 2-6-0 ala Kemtron. It needn’t have all the bells and whistles, but be sturdily built with a reliable mechanism, and a price somewhat less than astronomical.

The sound could be more realistic. The whistle doesn’t sound real.

I agree with the comments about the whistle. It seems to be a little high pitched and squeaky. I am basing this on listening to N&W 1218 and it’s hooter! Great looking locomotive and I will look into it down the road.

Nice loco generally; seems to run well. Sound is not worth the
extra $$$ for it–weak and mushy, but like most sound in model
locomotives. Those who want any sound are better off with
MR’s regional sound system with larger speakers.

Don, Virginia

have this engine ,simply one of the best engines they make…now only for a c.o. h 8 …

Still a great looking Loco, chuffing sounds are muffled especially with 2 speakers, and sound tinny. the sounds in my older Y6b by Precsion are far better, however the steam boat whistle is realistically captured. The Head light Flashing like a “mars Light” detracts from the overall effect, not seen on any of my N&W CD’s
The pulling power is very good was that with or with out the traction tyre.
That’s all from Benoni South Africa keep up the good work.

I heartily agree with many of the comments. This is a massive, well done engine. I also agree with several comments on the head light, what’s with the blinking? I do have one question, what’s with the trailing truck just hanging out there not supporting anything? I know that its real purpose is to support the firebox but here it’s doing nothing but “tagging along for the ride.” Lastly, very impressed with the pulling power…50 some cars on a 3% grade? Who cares if they don;t match the era, it’s the demo that counts here. Impressive! To bad I don’t model the N&W, Pennsy’s my line, and I couldn’t afford it anyway (this retiree’s pension can’t afford the expense.) I’m not a big fan of sound and this just demonstrates why, it is kind of “tinny” with a slight echo effect. Over all a “4 1/2;” without the sound its a “5.”

Looks good. Pulling power looks great. The bell suonds good but the whistle needs help. It needs to be deeper in sound. I know it is tough with such small a speaker. Maybe two would help?

It’s a beautiful engine and I like the smoke. The whistle sure sounds like an N&W “hooter”. What’s with the blinking headlight? Does Broadway think it’s a Mars light? That really ruins the image to me.

Very nice, except for the whistle. it is not realistic.

I have to agree with the others. Great engine, but the whistle?
