Has anyone seen how sorry the video on the 5-DCC is? [V]
If you have a slow connection, it would not be worth the time to download it. All they do is pu***rains around with their hands and make their own sounds. Would have been nice to see the system in action. [:(]
It so hard to figure out if somone is being sarcastic via the internet ya know.
Like this… “The new DCC 5 system has too many options! I’m not sure if I like the direct connection to my brain either… what if I take a minute to think about dinner… is my GP 38-2 suddenly going to burst into flames?”
I feel it is time to post due notice. I developed this type of system back in 1999, while a member of the Gorree & Daphetid Operators nn Monterey, CA. We often had operating sessions at Dr. Jack Brown’s layout. Basically anything that could go wrong, eventually did. We began referring to these sessions as the “Digitrax Follies”. I bought an Athearn dummy SW-7, lettered to fit in with Jack’s AT&SF theme. A few weeks later it was necessary to place this loco into service, at a time when someone inadvertently reprogrammed every loco on the layout to the same address.
The operation is simple. The SW 7 has two exhaust stacks., Place the right index digit on the front stack to go forward. Place the same digit on the rear stack to back up. take all digits off the loco to stop.
I have applied for a patent for this syustem. I hereby license it to all MR readers who can recall Al Kalmbach’s slogan, “Model Railroading Is Fun”.
I gave up on regular DCC after letting the smoke out of too many decoders.
