I love that roofing job!!
Cody,
Amazing … the first review is dated a week before the video was released.
Thanks
That’s what we need, simple solutions for simp—well you know what I mean.
Cody, you can do the same process with 3/8" masking tape. No need for the adhesive and the rougher texture of the tape looks like tar paper or felt roofing material. Just spray it black after application to the roof.
Nice job , Cody. I offer a minor dimensional correction regarding actual roll roofing: the rolls are usually 3’ wide, and strips are overlapped only 2-3". Sometimes the pieces are cut to lengths as short as 12’ to encourage flattening before application; the end laps are similar.
Cody,
I use black, dark brown, or gray sandpaper for my roofs that need a roof material. I have been using this since the 1980s.
Good job Cody. Thanks for the tip.

Good idea on roofing paper.
Food for thought…
Cut a couple strips shorter, thus creating a couple of
vertical seams to give the roof some added carector.

Good idea to use the 3M 77
Better than the diluted white glue method I have been using for years. But you are a bad monkey! No treat for you!! Always wear respirator with any spray glue or paint!
The printer paper appears to make for a good tar paper.
Would a 92 lb. card stock work doing the roofing?
Great technique. I use very fine sand paper (3M #413Q, 200 Wetiordry) that is gray so I don’t have to paint it. I just cut it into strips and glue down with full strength Elmer’s glue. When it is dry I dry brush it with some white paint. I use it on buildings and even old time passenger cars. I like the texture the fine sand paper has when finished.
Cody,
Nice tip. However, you don’t need 3 points to line-up the strips - 2 points will define a straight line. If you try to make a line using 3 points you often end up with 2 straight lines rather than 1.
I like it.
Great article. Also can slit paper (partially) in vertical fashion to simulate shingles if desired
Very simple process and not too costly. Looks good.
NEAT & QUICK WAY FOR ROOFING.
The problem with the stopage and reloading can be “fixed” by letting the video run and when it gets near the end grab the curser in the play bar and move it back to the beginning. The video will run all the way out without halting.
