When I built my fences I used match sticks and drilled minute holes in each one. After colouring the posts I threaded rust coloured cotton through the holes. Next I drilled holes in the plaster which was the surface of the paddocks. I craft glued the matches into the holes and when dry I put tension on the cotton and tied it off with a spot of glue on the slightly larger end posts. It worked for me Down Under.
This is obviously in HO scale. Is there any thing that will work in N-scale?
looks like a good idea might work to keep some of the railfans out of the West Memphis & Northern yard but don’t count on it because there all ready there.
that was good but where is codys office
Good Information!
Very nice. Wondering just where this Protec Proline is obtained or who sells it. Thank you, Glenn
thanks cody i will try it on my farm model
Can you guys post up a list of supplies used to make the fence? It looks so easy to do and I can add this to my layout right now.
Nice video…
Excellent demo Cody - keep the tips coming because some of us need them more than others.
Hey! That’s exactly how I did it…!

Well done, this technique adds a real nice detail that is rarely ever seen on model RailRoad layouts. This type of fencing was often seen and common along the prototype RR right of way and property lines in the last century and some are still inplace. After watching this video it surely inspired me to add this simple but excellent detail addtion to my layout. I am wondering to myself that once I start will I be able to stop making these fences?..
A great way to model a pasture fence, and not have all the posts in a straight vertical position adds to reality, just look at the fence posts here in NE LOL
great tip.
only able to view .28 sec. of this vidio
It’s amazing how the smallest details can give the largest amount of realism to a layout. nice!
Fence looks great. I am interested to work with Proteck Proline in the future.
It was a helper but not to get to tech like maybe could make
a slight cut across the fence posts say if they were laid side by
side then maybe the glue would not be needed. The liquid
crazy glue at walgreens works for me.
