Nice looking layout but where is the rolling stock? Looking through the video and the photos in the magazine article I see two locomotives and one rail truck, but not one boxcar or passenger car.

I agree that it would have been nice to see some TRAINS on the model railroad. The buildings are works of art and the scenery is nice but something important to model railroading was missing.

Remember rule number 1. It is his railroad, and it is what he wants and enjoys. I think it is wonderful. I can imagine completely loosing contact with the world’s ‘stuff’ for hours on end by getting my mind into that wonderfully imagined quiet and peaceful village.
Bravo, it is doing just what it is supposed to do.

RULE #1!!!

I REALLY LOVE DETAIL. BUT;NARRAGANSETT, IS MIND BOOGLING. THERE IS SO MUCH DETAIL IT IS HARD TO TAKE IT ALL IN. REALLY I UNDERSTAND, IT IS WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY. THE RULES ARE WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO BE; BUT IS THERE A GENERAL RULE WHEN YOU CAN ACTUALLY PUT TO MUCH DETAIL IN A GIVEN SPACE? I GUESS THERE IS NO ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION OR IS THERE ? WELLL DONE TOM STATON VERY FEW WILL EVER COME CLOSE TO REACHING YOUR SKILL.

FOLLOW-UP TO PART 1: I DO UNDERSTAND WHEN YOU ARE THERE WITH YOUR RAILROAD; THAT IS WHERE YOU FEEL YOU BELONG. ALL THE CARES OF THE OUTSIDE WORLD, HEATLH, MONEY, RELATIONSHIPS, NOTHING CAN TOUCH YOU. THAT’S WHERE YOU FEEL TOTAL AT PEACE.

Hi ya all. U know that the rolling stock will have the same kind of detail work as his layout. Looking forward to seeing some of that in the future. Thanks for the ride over your rails, enjoyed it.

Wonderful, enjoyed every second of the video.

Nice Layout - great detail and scenery!

Absolutely gorgeous layout. I liked the idea of only running the loco so the scenery detail could really be enjoyed. So many things I remember as well as traveling through many towns after their hay day. The signs posted added so much realism. Thanks for sharing a memory. By the way, I agree with Rex. I still only hear a single loco running past today where I live now. Either going to be serviced or retired.

Nice layout. But, no action as far as the loco doing anything, i e; no pulling cars or switching.

Great scenery! I agree with Rex. You do with what you want. Its your railroad. One rule I have is I like having cabooses on all of my trains. No matter the era. Steam or diesel.

The detail really shows up well in O scale. I especially like the structure with the porch abut to collapse – great idea! Beautifully done!

Visually a great Railroad. It is a shame that the creator has decided to move to G scale.
Has it now been broken up, never be seen again?.
