Video: Rio Grande in the Rockies

Mike,
You renew my faith in N scale. I just love your scenery! And thank you for the slow and smooth running trains in the video.

One of the finest (if not the finest!) model railroads I have ever seen!

Mike: You are truly an amazing modeler. The scenery and back grounds are fantastic. Most of the time it was impossible to tell in the video where the scenery ended and the back ground began.

Awesome. Magnificent scenery. The quality of the photography brought the model into a realm of reality that is not often captured. One easily gets caught up in the mountain scenery to the point that the trains are almost ignored. I especially was impressed by the winter scenes. It took a second viewing focusing attention on the trains to appreciate the quality of the model detail and the variety of motive power. I truly enjoyed the video. It is hard to realize that the railroad is N-Scale. It appears so much larger.

One of the nicest model railroad videos that I’ve seen. Excellent modeling in N Scale. Keep it up, Mike…!!! I love the snow scenes…brrrrrrr…

man that was great

This model is an inspiration. Now if we can just get on board sound to go with the DCC, all would be perfect. Mike has done a great job and I am headed out to work on my layout, World Series or not.

Mike your work is awe inspiring! I’ve followed this railroad from the beginning through the pages of N-scale Railroad & Model Railroader and through your scenery painting book. It just keeps getting better! Well done sir!!

You inspire us wannabe modelers - I am headed for the trainroom! Thanks.

AMAZING! Dead set the best layout I’ve ever seen.

Purely aside from the layout itself, which is absolutely amazingly well done, this video is simply incredible and definitely one of the best - if not the best - I’ve ever seen. One viewing and it’s almost been enough to make me switch scales… I’m actually scared to watch it again! (but I will…)

This “N” guage layout is the best I have ever seen personnally. The snow scenes are fantiastic and the transition from the desert to snow covered mountains is beautiful. This gives me incentive to work more on my layouts. Thank You for sharing

Simply awesome. I enjoyed seeing the trains moving through the scenery - magnificent. I especially enjoyed that this was N scale. I hope that we can see a schema of the entire layout.

Congratulations on a job well done.

WOW. Beautiful work. Great video. This is now my benchmark for all other layout videos.

Now that’s just flat out impressive! The scale of ths scenery just overwhelms the trains and is what makes this layout so spectacular. And those winter scenes…top notch stuff.

Totally convincing from all angles. Superb modeling and uniformly so. N-scale can indeed match or even surpass the larger scales in quality and scope, even in a moderately sized layout such as this. Excellent video production and pleasant background music. Bravo, Mike!

After watching the video after a couple of minutes I almost forgot it was a model , very well done , it’s nice to see different trains and motive power as we are moving along the main . The Krauss Maffei ( not sure of the spelling ) locomotives bring a nice touch .
Thanks for showing us this video !

Anybody who thinks N scale is all about oversized handrails, balky operation and is not to be taken “seriously” has never seen Mike Danneman’s railroad. What an amazing accomplishment!

Off the charts. This may be the best N scale model railroad ever built. I have rode the Ski Train over the same route and Mike has captured it exactly the way it looks. Go Colorado Rockies Rail!
