This is going to open up an amazing array of possibilities!
Dana, Nice product review. Do you have plans for an installation video of the Sound Car decoder?
neat idea. When this was first announced I thought it was just for freight cars, but your application to a commuter cab car is exactly the item I have thought about adding to add “life” to the other end of the train. Does it control the lights also?
Very cool, glad to have the video to complement the article.
Like the click of the wheels on jointed track, even though it looked like ribbon rail. Think the baggage car needs to go to the shop for out of gauge wheels judging by the flange squeal on straight track, All in all, an interesting addition to the sound possibilities.
I just bought a SoundCar decoder, speaker, lights and constant power module to mount in my Blackstone HOn3 Rio Grande caboose. I am grateful that George and Dana explained the operation of the SoundCar. It would be nice to see how to hook up these units. The first installation is always the hardest.

Nice product. Two things bothered me .First ;There was no mention that this was only a DCC product or will it work with DC layouts. Second; The idea of recreating a realistic sound is great but then picking up the car with his hand to uncouple it was not very realistic.
Drew, another great video! How many miles did you guys travel?
What a great idea! The one question I have is how many cars would you equip with the sound card? I have a small switching layout and it would be neat to outfit some of the cars and the caboose.
At the rate things are going you’ll to carry a pretty thick manual with you to operate a train, things are getting too techie especially if you are operating, if you just want to run, maybe but there are already to many functions.
So how do you install it in a car?
I love the click clack of the wheels! Sounds like the real thing I hear everyday going to work on the MBTA!
