Video: the next revolution?

While I believe that still photos (of the type we post on Sunday photo fun) will always be a staple, the next revolution will be (& already has happened, e.g., YouTube.com, etc) video. For example: http://www.davebodnar.com/railway/.

There’s something charming and attention-grabbing about amateur videographers’ work.

I will be one of the guest speakers, btw, about how military personnel are able to photograph/video footage and get the news out from the battlefield in near real time, thereby bypassing the traditional gatekeepers: the public affairs offices.

Dave ; I got it after a bit ! That was real good !! I’ve just started playing with the video features lately on my camera, & it is a lot of fun ! I think it will grow, too !

Yes, I agree! Just look at what Roy has done. He will be way ahead a lot of us. I am surprised havn’t seen more of the onboard videos with all the minuture small cameras that are available. Definetly an exciting time we live in with all the technology available.

I just started using my canon camera to make videos of my Lionel trains running on my layout. When the camera is set next to the track, on the entrance to a curve, the trains look life sized and impressive! Also, when I use the 15 frames-per-second speed instead of 30 fps, the resulting video resembles a film shot in the 30s or so, very nice “old” looking footage. I always use the highest resolution and play train music in the background (I have a CD of 24 train songs). The music creates a nice atmosphere.

SUPER COOL videos guys [tup] [tup] !

I got a question for somebody out there that has to be smarter than me about downloading these videos with my DSL.

I got DSL about a month ago now and have really enjoyed it.My problem and question is this.About a week and half ago my DSL started to run slow.I’ve restored my computer to factory settings,and have eleminated all programs that would make it run slow,I think.I have everything the same way it was when my DSL was first installed.And it ran like a rocket, until about a week and a half ago like mentioned.

I had the phone company come out to check my lines running to the house.The repairman installed a new line from the pole to my house.Installed an outside line filter.Then put in all new junction boxes.He even ran a speed test on my line and from the main trunk up the road from here,and said I had perfect line speed.

So does anyone have an idea as to what it could be ? Is it in my computer,like a bug or something ?

Any ideas to try and resolve my problem would be greatley appreciated [:(] .
