If you guys wanna see some real scenery being built , take a look at the Mt St. Helens web-site. Notice the dome of rock going uo in the middle of the old crater. The photo there is renewed every 5 min. or so. BTW they opened the Mt. up to climbing this week!!![:(!]
Watching that is interesting, especially since I’m in southern Nevada and it’s in Washington.
The building part is only a problem to cartographers who wish the scenery would stand still. The collapse-and-blow-up part is the one that gets EVERYBODY’s attention!
Chuck (Who models a prototype whose middle name is Volcano)
We are going to MT St Helens in a few weeks. I suppose I will have to add that to the layout, but not this year. As all you all know, I love playing volcano with my foam blocks and makeing mountains and canyons.
What was that old high school chemistry stunt where they mixed iron filings and magnesium powder to simulate a volcanic eruption. Not sure I’d want that on my layout, but I’ve seen these fiberoptic displays that barely simulate the same thing.
