Right, Jim a victory for rail service, Chattanooga and the UAW union.
Great news!
Let’s hope Volkswagen will be able to sell their products so that will ensure a long term account for both carriers.
Francis the VW plant in Chattanooga is non-union, as is just about every industry in Tennessee is. That is why they are in Tennessee to start with. It is good news for every one involved. I get to get more photo’s of auto trains.

Here’s a possibility for my being uh, misunderstood: A report that VW made an arrangement that said the UAW’s place in management was justified and earned
by the plant’s labor without requiring worker membership in the UAW.
Do you fault that? Deny it exists?
Unions are about collecting dues.
The UAW cannot collect dues from non-members.
VW can play European-style footsie all it wants with the UAW.
It’s still NOT a union plant.
VW management is not opposed to having a union, they are used to it in their German plants. However, when it was voted on by the workers, the union lost. I’m sure the union’s organizing efforts will continue.
