Can anyone out there tell me if there is railroad whose paint scheme was similiar to wabash???(dark and light blue with silver roof) I’m having a hard time finding the passenger / locomotive combos I want and am thinking about repainting them myself. thanks for any help[:D]
Do you mean This scheme??

The roof is gray. The striping is closer to white, and of course the blue is blue… This is the scheme wabash road diesels were painted in up to 1960. Afterwards they went to the all blue with yellow striping.
Not an actual photo but it’ll get the point across…

If it’s the actual Wabash paint scheme you are looking to re-create, Micro-scale makes the decals for the striping, flags, and numbers… Accuflex (or whatever they are called today) makes (or made) the paint for the blue and gray. Painting them is a tedius process though… Lots of detail work…
Here’s a slightly photoshopped version of one of three that I’ve done…

and here is a crappy picture of the same loco without the effects…

If I read your question right, you want to know if there is another RR with a similar paint scheme that you could use as a guide. As far as I know, only Wabash and Ann Arbor (a subsidiary I think) used this scheme or anything close. Its a very striking paint scheme and there are a few locos out there with it.
Good luck
Tes, I am looking for a more common scheme that would be easier to repaint than say, a DRG or Pensy. For some reason the Atlantic Coast Line comes to mind, you don’t those for sale everyday. Thanks for the help.
