Walthers 2 stall engine house EXTRA PARTS

Hello, I am now putting together a Walthers 2 stall engine house, and I have extra parts.

Here are the extra part numbers: 06-13 06-14 06-15 06-16. These parts (gray) are about 1/2" in lenght.

Any ideas where these parts go?

I’ve built a number of Walthers structure kits, and I always end up with extra parts. Some are duplicates, some are “alternate” parts, and some don’t seem to belong there at all.

I think they manufacture multiple kits using “common” sprues with the same parts on them. Not every kit needs every part on the sprue, so you end up with extras.

Keep 'em. Sooner or later, you’ll need extra windows, or vents or whatever. Sometimes I think they do it on purpose, on the theory that if you end up with 3 extra windows, you’ll buy some walls and a roof so you can make another building. Works for me. I know that when I see a bunch of extra parts like that, the first thought that goes through my mind is, “Now, what can I make with these?”

I’ve built several Walthers Cornerstone kits and had extra parts with all of them, especially window glazing and frames. Sprues are cast with parts that fit several different kits. If you read the instructions that come with the kit, they even tell you that there will be extra parts that are not used.

Yeah, it’s not the same situation as reassembling a car engine and seeing parts still on the garage floor.

Thank you for the infos, I will put aside the extra parts and use them in my future kitbashing projects.
