I am putting my track work together and saw the walthers wye turn outs. Anyone have any thoughts on these? Do they work well or are their problems?
I had one on my layout (before I took it down)…they are Excellent turnouts, Much better than the Atlas Wye that it replaced.
Have (5) on mine. One had a point problem which a little file work cured. The Atlas #4 is also there and using a Tortoise it works well also. The Tortoise has cured a lot of problems that I thought where the Wye’s fault. Had an Atlas #66 undertable and I always had a problem with a point pick on the Atlas Wye, dumped the #66 and the problem went away.
If you are powering the froge be CAREFUL that you do not short the frog, easy to do.
