I am watching Tropical Storm Dean. Been though many but I hope they stay away! Justa FYI
Yeah Toad,
An I still ain’t got my house of 26 years rebuilt since Charlie,----- Government…
I’ll get outta here if it ever gets as bad again…
Maybe it will wash the trash and debris left over from Katrina away so we can move on with the rebuilding.
Now that is a idea! [tup]
This is what I have been looking at http://hurricane.accuweather.com/hurricane/index.asp?partner=forecastfox&traveler=1 seems to be great site. Also like to point out the Water Temp. red aint good!!! All my RR stuff secure [oX)]
Starting to get bands of rain from Erin [|(]
Just what y’all need, more rain. Now the big question is after Erin where is Dean going to go ?
Well, the waters of the gulf is warm. Dean will get strong.
I think Dean will pass to south of Cuba and then turn north just off the Yucatan and hit into Texas or LA and eventually north or west. We are very hot here in arkansas and remember the heat before Katrina arrived.
If Dean is turned before Cuba she will hit Florida or into Ga.
I dont see any reason for Dean to hit the eastern seaboard this time but only the Lord knows what it will do.
My gut ain’t never been wrong…so I am still moving on with closing up and picking up.
When I was a cop I went with my gut and still here [:D]
Well I just payed the ol’surance agent a visit today, an up’d the coverages a bit, I hope Jimmy if’en he’s a name, and Dean both hit here square on, so’s I can collect and get outta here.
Ain’t got the woman around to ask me to stay this time, I’ll just get in a nice motel or at a friends house an ride it out…I’m in a mobile.
When it’s all over, I’ll just call the appraiser, an let him handle it all, don’t never plan to deal with an insurance company ever again by myself, ain’t a one of’em honest…been there…

Hey Bill/Frog,
latest report seems to indicate Dean might be goin on by us, but who knows from there, maybe to follow Erin, maybe you best up them rates a bit too…
Did I hear you say we having a Hurricain-Keg-RR party? [:D][}:)]
Who’s Buying, I’ll bring ice, gim’me directions…Than again maybe the ol’former FEMA folks still got some ice left over from Katrina???
They might even have some beer hold up in a cooler somewhere out there tooo!!!
Just bring hammock [;)]
An sleep right on through…ZZZZZZZZZZZZ[zzz]
The perfect accessory for the keg, Hartland Planter Kit. If the water gets to deep the keg will float, oughta be empty by then, and the train can keep on goin’. [:-^]
WHen greybeards start to roll past my front door I know then that we are all a-fixing to stand between perdition and the deep blue sea.
Otherwise I dont worry about it. If winds are supposed to get above 100, we usually relocate elsewhere in the mountains for a few days. After all the building code says the house needs to withstand 80 mph gust for 3 seconds… anything over that becomes an insurance problem.
Hurricanes and Noreasters are a staple of life where I grew up and it is not a problem. Katrina gave us a feeder band that ripped our area for 30 minutes and I sware that rain was “Upwards”, not sideways or down.
Now the elders still tell stories about storms past with a gleam in thier eyes and try to scare the wee ones with stories of shrieking wind and tearing roofs.
It’s the tornados and the scream of the air raid siren that gets us moving with some haste.
Let it rain, let it blow and the girls thier cradle blankets to tear. =)

Erin just gave us the “bad” side but some of our members in San Antonio & Corpus Christi got the brunt. Hope our members are ok!
Sounds like Erin petered out pretty fast, lot of rain & some flooding I read, but overall it came onshore far weaker than it could have. Lets see what happens next with Dean, sounds like its going the come straight into the gulf and thats never good.
Rain bands still here and Houston is a mess.
One Randles (sp, food store) in Clear Lake near NASA, roof fell in and is feared one person DOA.
Bands are dropping 4" - 8" in less than 30 min… RRs unite! Help others!
