WC SD45 7495

WC 7495 is on train 343 this morning, passed Duplainville at 7am. This unit is most likely going to the Musuem in Duluth. As a fan of the WC, Im very happy this was made possible by CN and the gang at Duluth. From what I hear, it will be repainted in the NP scheme, so If you want to see it in WC paint get up there soon.

Where does train 343 go to and from?

M343 is the Jackson, MS to Mellville, Saskatchewan, Canada train

Parked in stevens point roundhouse & will leave on 403 to superior.

It has been confirmed that CN indeed did donate it to us. But of course, after all it is CN, and apparently it is missing its generator.[V]

But we shall see what happens. So much stuff is being restored around here, I dont know where all the money is gonna come from to get this unit repainted…

Thata boy Max! Just leave her in the same dress, just get the generator!

[#ditto] I wonder if any more 45s will get presurved?

LOL

Unit is currently sitting on our storage track, minus aux generator, computer system, rear numberboards and class lights etc…

No worries about the rear #s, those were taken off by WC.

w00t i’m gonna be up in duluth on the 4th of july! i’ll be sure to see this unit! if i get in the cab or anything, dare i say 7495 might unseat 6620 in how much it means to me

Here are some pics of the unit. It is in sad shape.

Heres me on the nose. I do think I look quite funny:

Me on the engineers side:

That 45 looks a heck of alot better then some of the old units at Homewood! The paint really held up too. I’m pretty surprised that the WC logo didn’t fade at all!

Another SD45 preserved for another BN predecessor along with GN #400 Hustle Muscle. Now only if any former GN F-45s still survive that can be painted back into Big Sky Blue!

No.

No, eh? That’s sad…what road are the remaining MRL and Susie-Q ones? ATSF?

Idk, I love GN, but I hate the Big Blue Sky scheme.

All of the MRL F45s appear to be original to (built for) the BN near as I can tell, as they were built in 4/71 and 5/71. I don’t know about the Susie-Q though.

Noah

Im almost positive the NYSW one is also true BN.
