Here’s my N scale point to point.
intresting. my layout will definetly not be the best but i would not call it the worst. the worst might be one with a few pieces of track right now.
Mine may be…
It is a loop on the carpet…with a passing siding…Beige carpet grass…Miscellanious train boxes around for scenery…wires all tangled and curled…Serves no industry…Has a bottle of lubricant nearby that could be a water tower…
this is kind of a dumb topic- my layout’s not the worst because i can run trains on it (and it’s somewhat completed)
Its supposed to be. Chip is a big joker[:D] a post coming to mind was something about how the MTH K4 was great and you could make the smoke fluid from cigars. Something along those lines.
i don’t have an objection to this being a dumb topic-i just stated it was
I have a logging pike on my layout that doesn’t go anywhere. It just kinda stops 'cause I rebuilt the mainline under it and it isn’t high enough to put in a tresle bridge. On the other hand I really don’t want to win on this thread… [:D] [;)] I don’t think it holds a candle to your n point to point though chip… YOU WIN!!! [:D]
My layout is pink foam with track on top. That’s it. Just a loop of track, making the train go around and around in circles. The buildings are engines and cars by the track. Nothing else. Just the track, the foam, the trains…and I could go on and on like this. Just on and on and on…[:D]
I win. My layout is awful. I’m ashamed I have to post these pictures…
Again, I’m sorry…
Yeah. It does kinda suck. hehe
I decline. I’m too thin skinned. [(-D]
Someone who placed a broken 9" section of snap track on a tool-strewn work bench and placed a well-worn 17" Big Boy on it would be the winner. The layout that never worked.
Aggro, stop bragging!
I’m sure I don’t win, mainly because of the fact that my layout is my dad’s, and he is getting good at all the layout skills.
My layout is fine, but my garage (where I keep my layout) may well be the worst–how many of you have to duck around giant monster costumes to throw switches?
I’d say that the worst layout is one that has endless incarnations on pieces of graph paper, legal pads, and cocktail napkins, but never actually gets BUILT. Woe unto the armchair model railroader!
I’d rather see something that actually got published. You know, like that recent one, a loop with only a single siding
Hey I can do that as I have an old Rivarossi Big Boy doing the back stroke to prove it!
Aggro your cheat’n again[:(!]
I may have a chance at this one.
Some people follow a complicated L girder benchwork scheme, I just used whatever wood scraps I could find in the burn bin:
Some folks go through all the hassle of foam and plaster and paint.
Me?
I just use tall sticks to simulate mountains:
See that freight station in the foreground there?
That’s a scratchbuilt Cloraseptic box, perfectly balanced on the thin edge of a 1x2.
Not pictured are three, yes three, scratchbuilt Pringles can authentic 1890 period water tanks, a sewing kit general store, and a mini-fishing tackle box saloon.
I’m also putting in for the “Worst Photography” award.
It’s not just the $38 dollar digital webcam, poor photography is an art not so easily mastered simply by using the least expensive equipment you can find.
Proper composition takes years to learn. See how the intruding, out of focus finger in the upper image manages to be seen, without obscuring the horrid benchwork behind?
Even the gifted amatuer can achieve the flat, uninteresting lighting offered by the single overhead fixture, but it takes a dedicated professional to combine that with the vomitous color imbalance and gross overexposure.
All the elements have to come together, and here, at last, I feel I’m finally hitting my stride.
You should be flogged.
Claiming victory in the midst of a rout. My layout is WAY worse than yours.
What’s the deal with that guy on the far side of the caboose?
Is the brakeman, unseen inside the caboose, robbing him at gunpoint?
You know… prototypically, it’s usually the other way around.
Yeah, man, you should be.
Just to rub in how bad it really is, why don’t you post a thread about how you made that horrible excuse for scenery?
Cute, is that door to door delivery Chip?[:o)][;)]
Or a thread on how to turn thousands of dollars worth of steam locomotives into worthless junk by “weathering” them. hehe [;)]
