Weathering Washes

I’m having a hard time finding India Ink locally. I’ve found fountain men ink but wasn’t sure if you can use that. I’ve tried A C Moore, Office Depot and Staples. Can anyone suggest where to find it or substitutes? I’m trying to weather some buildings. Thanks.

I can’t remember if I got mine at Wal-Mart or Hobby Lobby. I am sure Hobby Lobby will have it in there art section. Mike

Arts supplies stores should carry it because India Ink art is still fairly popular. If you get no joy that way, maybe Staples can get in a case and sell you a bottle, or ask for a bottle to be included somewhere in a shipment to the store?

Have you phoned some places under “arts supplies” in the yellows? It could be that your first call will net a referral to someplace that the dealer knows has it.

I saw some at Wal-Mart in there craft dept. I’m not sure on the price thou.

Thanks. I will check out Hobbytown and Walmart. Sorry, I have no idea what gets drier as it gets wetter.

If you can’t find any email me. I’ll send you as much as you wish. It’s really cheap.

A towel gets wetter as it dries. [swg]

An art supply store would have it for certain. If there’s one nearby, I’d go there first rather than take a chance on other places.

It turned out that I found it at a Michael’s Crafts. Thanks everyone!

What is a good mixture for india ink and acholol? Is there a difference for plasic and wood?

Walmart probably.

I have the ink, I wanted to know how to thin it and in what ratio to what do you thin. it is not used straight up right
