Weaver and Great Customer Service and New Catalog

I recently purchased some old Weaver rolling stock kits that come without trucks & couplers. When I ordered the parts from Weaver, they asked me the style of each car and added the correct screws to attach the parts. That was nice of them. They even paged someone to the phone to help me order the appropriate trucks that went with each car.

Now, many weeks later, they sent me a free copy of their catalog. How many other manufacturers in this hobby I buy from send me their catalogs free and without asking for it? NONE.

I just wanted to pass on good customer service when I see it. We all tend to post complaints and forget to praise good srevice.

Any other people have similar experience or have a company that they feel is great in the train hobby?

Dan

You have discovered the company with the best customer service in O gauge. They are great.

I have 2 pleasant experiences I’d like to add.

I ordered a smoke element and a few other things from Olsen’s Toy Trains for my 2025. The smoke element arrived damaged, but I didn’t get around to figuring that out for over a month. I called on a Saturday and even though a month had gone by, and even though I offered to pay several times, the man on the phone insisted on sending me a new smoke element at no charge to me. Two thumbs way up to Olsen’s! [tup] [tup]

Yesterday I called Williams about a bent axle on one of my 2023’s trucks. I had no problems getting them on the phone, unlike Southerners who shall remain nameless (Chief). I asked if I could send back just the truck to reduce shipping charges. They said it would not be a problem. I’ll give Williams a thumbs up as well. When the truck comes back fixed, they get another thumbs up. [tup]

Kudos to Don Shaw and Doug Dressler at The Train Station! I was about to give up on ever getting the Lionel UP GP-30 that I preordered from someone else on August 2, but The Train Station came to the rescue! Great people to deal with. We talked late yesterday afternoon and I’ve already received the shipment info. and tracking number.

My experiences with Weaver are all good. I ordered a NYC express car (converted troop car) on Friday at York and it was delivered to my house the following Wed! They are nice folks to talk to.

Roy

NS with TMCC? If so, I will definitely buy some. Made in the USA. [:D]

What amazes me is that I e-mailed them with information about the Grand Trunk Western Railroad book by Patric Dorin about 6 months ago and now they have announced 3 more cars in the Grand Trunk Western markings.

These GTW cars belong with any 1960’s and 1970’s Midwestern train.
