Weekend Photo Fun 5-7 October.

One of my usual pre-photo checks now, is to look for any obvious cat hairs. I still find them in some of the photos, especially where she’s rubbed against one of the wire-wound trees. Maybe I should see if I can make a wire tree using cat hair as foliage - maybe next April - it would be a very cheap source of raw materials

Jon, Thats it i give up. Now that imhave seen your alabama pics i want to strive for absolute realism. Something i don’t think i will ever achieve. So since i can’t go big i am goin home ;0) Seriously though nice work! Mike

Thanks Mike and everyone else for the kind words and positive comments. I’ve just finished uploading a video of the train shown in the recent photos

While listening to baseball playoffs last night, I built and painted an old Dyna-Model Products baggage tractor and cart.

Nice looking model once finished. The driver and luggage are by Preiser (I repainted the driver’s overalls from orange to blue):

Went to the train show in Bixby, OK today. Picked up a P2K D&RGW GP60. Runs great!

I attribute the lousy focus and grain to my phone’s camera and low light. [:(]

Also got the remaining four ground throws installed. Yay!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Outstanding work, everybody!

Here is my GE 44T which I painted a couple of years ago. In recent weeks, I installed a decoder, and it was the most challenging decoder installation I have done. It is one of the old Bachmann two-motor models. I would never attempt doing this project a second time.

Amazing work everyone. This is a video of the structure lighting on my layout I just finished. Unfortunately I had to have background lights for the camera to record half way decent and it tends to washout the lighting effects.

Western Maryland 1407 with a coal drag.

Nice pictures everyone.

I haven’t done a ton on my layout but did manage to buy a new loco and pour part of my river. The river may need another pour but I’m leaving it alone for now. I think I’ll try to add water effects first and see what it looks like.

Here it is so far. The time of year I model, this river is very low and you can see to the bottom.

The loco is a Bachmann RS3 that will be stripped and painted for CNW. Right now it’s a long way from home in Southern Minnesota! Maybe I should just add 'Minnesota" under the Southern and call it a day!

Two new additions:

Stewart Baldwin AS16, remotored, retrucked.

Mantua F7A shell on Athearn clone chassis.

Love the second shot of the rs3. Looks so real. You and Mr… Grant have some mad skills!

Great work, everyone–some really great modeling going on, as usual! [bow]

Feeling better, and the weather’s co-operating, so I had a little operating session today. Here’s ex-Denver & Salt Lake 2-8-2 #1225 with the Sierraville Turn running by 2-10–0 #1003 as the little “Deck” prepares to switch the stockyard at Wagon Wheel Gap.

Got some more work done on my ExactRail 4780CF Evans Covered hoppers.

In this picture I have added the airlines from the ABD valve to the Air Reservoir, attached the end cages and metal grabs where needed. I still need to straighten and glue the plastic ladder rungs.

I am down to two of the three kits I was working on as in one kit I received two B end cages and no A end cage along with no trucks. (They are sending replacements).

Thanks for looking!
