Well it’s Friday in Boston, so might as well start adjusting to the impending weather change, White River Southern Style.
The GP15-1s are WRS’s newest power that should be returning to Tyler shortly. Below is the oldest locomotive to be operating on the WRS (assuming the SDP will likely spend most of its time sitting in the Lebanon Shops now) having operated on the original railroad, before the new mainline, and new motive power was purchased. And interestingly enough it was the last to be painted.
Alex … I see why you could not wait with good photos like that.
Here it is after midnight CST so here’s mine. It’s Colorado & Southern 700D which has EMD model designation F9-Am. It was a common F7-A until it was involved in a head on collision in 1958. EMD rebuilt it wth an F9 carbody. Here’s a link with more information on C&S 700D as well as FW&D 750A which also was rebuilt to an F9-Am.
Alex, your photos provide a very nice start to this week’s photo fun. The foggy/wintry scene is well done, and I like your B&W very much.
Garry, you have created a credible scene there. The rocks look very natural, and so does the ballast. I like the lighting, too.
I can’t recall if I have posted this, so since I am not in a position to post new images for the time being, here is a J1 making the Seneca bridge creak under its weight.
WOW awesome start to the wpf this week. I have not posted any pics lately but I have been busy. Finished a turn table pit, finished an engine house, finished a downtown building, weathered my ore cars and started to rework my plastic models of the big boy and hudson. No work+ Way to hot outside+ bored out of my mind=some railroad work in the summer. A rare occasion indeed.
I’m still working on this area, have been for nearly a month now… In this scene a Southern RR agent is making an early morning call on a couple of the company’s customers, Bubba’s Plumbing Co. and the Southern Aggregate business. An 0-8-0 switch engine goes about its morning routine on the Yard switch lead above. Jarrell
Wow! Great start to the weekend folks! Some great photos of some exceptional work! I haven’t had any time to get much done on the SLOW except start a couple small pewter kits. Right now I am waiting for some missing parts to arrive so I can finish them…
So in the mean time I went out to the R&GV RR Museum and played with some of the , ah, larger scale trains… I think these shots are all 1/1 scale. Hey I like all different scales myself…
How about a shot of two of our locos MUed on the consist for the Rochester Chapter of the NRHS Last night? On the right is Lehigh Valley RS3 hammerhead #211 and on the right is R&GVRR 80 Tonner #1654.
And a couple shots from the Night Photoshoot we did. These are of recently restored Rochester Gas and Electric #1041. She will be doing run by duty for Diesel Days this weekend. For information go to here.
And… Here is one of the Crew that has been doing parts of the restoration and was kind enough to start her up and bring her outside for us last night!
Hope you enjoy the Big “Toys”! More shots can be found here.
All I can say is WOW! Some awesome and inspiring pictures so far, my little project does not hold a candle to what is posted here. Anywho, one has to start some whwere, and until we move into the new place it’s all just working on my techniques.
I added the first layer of grass and track to the C&NW Diorama, like I said earlier this is my first attempt. next step is to add ballast and loose rocks.
