Some cars & trucks have been discontinued as they enter new ones. These discontinued ones can be found on ebay at a premium price or can be found at train shows.
Next Saturday there is a very good train show put on by the Boeing Employees Railroad Club at Queeny Park in St Louis County.

In case there is any misunderstanding, all I did was take the pictures of some incredible modelling. I was simply blown away by the quality of the work on display at the Narrow Gauge convention.
This weekend I completed two buildings. Fortinbras Furniture completes the buildings on Main St in Greenvale Junction. It is located next to Ollie’s tavern and across the street from the depot.
Reilly Meat Packing in Sheepscot Lower is a local meat wholesaler who receives reefers of meat from the midwest and repackages it to local butchers, markets and restraunts. The tunnel behind Reillys goes to staging. The white building in the back is a mockup of a future DPM Modulars project that is in the planning stage.
[:-*]I hope Spacemouse’s Layout Police do not see the picture; all I could find to pose with the building was an old reefer with horn-hook couplers; worse than that it’s a TYCO!! [:^)] http://cs.trains.com/trccs/forums/t/179146.aspx

I got the benchwork done on two of my 3 modules, these are 2’x6’ and the third will be 2’x4’. so now im laying out my trackplan on the plywood before transferring it to foam.
Layouts based in the 1950’s and represents a small town on a secondary line for the Union Pacific in the midwest. The town has a small depot and supplies grain and produce for the railraod. It also receives tank cars to supply the town with gasoline/diesel/kerosene and a team track is provided for less than carload items.
I decided to take a few pictures of some of my recently weathered stuff under natural lighting. I’ve also found that using the iPhoto uploader to Picasa for Mac has been washing out my photos, so I’ve had to use the Picasa editing feature to try to restore the original color.
Up first, my N scale LifeLike/Walthers Proto 2000 Pennsy HH1 weathered only with Dullcote and cheap acrylic washes:
Then, a shot of a Deluxe Innovations Pennsy boxcar airbrushed only. Again, using cheap acrylic craft paints for coloring:
A Walthers Pennsy GSC flat, with painted deck and deck debris:
And, Eastern Seaboard Models’ awesome N-scale only Pennsy G26, airbrushed, and with Hay Brothers Garage load:
Lastly, an Intermountain Pennsy boxcar with an interesting history… So I weathered this guy years ago with chalks and Dullcote, but never much cared for how it came out. Last year I tried stripping the weathering off using Testor’s airbrush thinner. It didn’t all come off. What remained behind, however, looked way better:
Weekend update update:
Last night I started making with the mud… I started by scabbing some scraps of foam in to fill in the gaps left by the reconstruction…
This view brings to mind the oil rig term “Junk Shot”… Then I started schmearing it with Sculptamold, using my pre-tinted blend with some black and nutmeg brown mixed into the mud.
The fork I used to spread it gives a nice texture, and before the trees go on, it looks sort of like Wasatch Canyon, so I had Henry’s UP Erie Built pose for a western-flavored shot…
Then I had enough mud leftover that I could dress up the shelf section with the approach to Elkins:
And, a final look at Casselman Gorge, overlooked by the Shaw train order office on it’s new improved real estate…
Next, I have to clean up the river, then it’s tree plantin’ time!
