Time for WPF. Hoping to see lots-o Model Railroading images as we roll thru April’s last weekend. Regards, Peter
Thanks for starting another WPF, Peter. And thanks for another of photo of your great modeling skills.
My photo is a building on the old layout that I’ve redone on the new layout. Not quite finished – there is some assorted junk and pipes to go into the building.
Good to see ya as our host again Peter. Thanks, and welcome back man.
Factory direct on a hot day, with red open flap windows. Those were a good design, and love your weathering job as always.
Kinda like the Ford wing windows. They never should have got rid of those.
Unless some pissed off bee got knocked in while going down the highway at 70 in the 70s
Bents look all the same, even if progressing 1/48th taller per inch.
Was pleased with the results at first-
untill a big whoops discovered, as the tail end of the bridge had to have the angle supports removed, and the grade reduced by shrinking the elevation ever so carefully with the hair dryer, taped to the glass.
The easement transformation was first overlooked, going to bridge #2.
And they wonder why my hair is getting more grey. These bridges are killing me man
Just kidding, I’m still loving this kinda stuff.
Post em if you got em kids

Excellent posts here, folks! Your open-window scene captures a look that can be found in nearly any industrialized city around the world, Peter! Well done!
John has a good thing going there, too! I really enjoy ‘scale’ lighting! LEDs have sure been a blessing for us modelers.
TF is the Man of a Million Bents! Wow — that is some impressive work! Bravo
I am in the tedious stage of wiring up 114 little light fixtures under the Union Station canopy sheds. B O R I N G but gotta get 'er done…
Here’s what the old, incandescent grain of wheat lamps looked like. Some of these were beginning to melt through the plastic roof!

The new LEDs are much better looking and I have more than double the number with much less current draw and heat:

There’s a 1.8 KΩ SMD resistor soldered to each black wire. Testing as I go:

Yes, I’m mixing ‘flavors’ of the color value. Some of the ‘bulbs’ are older, dirty low wattage and some are newer replacements with higher wattage bulbs.
Let’s see more fun stuff, folks!
Cheers, Ed

I treated myself to a new gondola. A rather unique design which there were only 100 or so built:

This model was already painted and ‘weathered’ as-is.
Cheers, Ed
It was still there when I replied to it.
So it goes…
Cheers, Ed
Thanks Peter for starting this weeks WPF. A quick visit. Excellent work by everyone.
My contribution.
Ex-Thomas ‘on duty’ (awaiting nameplates)
New Planet Industries locomotive (also awaiting nameplates).

Love all the projects here. Good work everyone!

Hi Joe, snowdog2112
A rumor, Geddy Lee and Neil Peart of Rush, would visit a friend in Canada. A fluffy and friendly Samoyed sled dog, would happily greet them at the door. But the other dog was standoffish, and would sneakily bite them on thier visit. And thats how they came up with thier inspiration for the song, (By-tor and the Snow Dog).
On an interview, Geddy Lee said, it was just a rumor.
PS I’d like to apologize, your intentions were misread. I’m sorry Ed, lets just leave it as water under the bridge. Okay
More layout pictures please.

John, Always nice finding a home on a new layout for an old structure, and the fun in digging up and placing some junk. Guessing your neat looking pipe shop is rail served?
TF, oh yeah, nothing but praise for those ‘wing windows,’ without A/C they were a godsend during warm weather . Btw, like the precision in your work.
Hey Ed, Quite the project, nothing like sprucing up the lighting, especially when it comes to ‘Red Carpet’ Service.
David, Thomas losing face was a bit saddening, but now fits his new role perfectly.
Years ago while passing thru a small town in Oregon a worn structure caught my eye, prompting me to stop the car and take a pic.
One Journey led to another
Thanks and regards, Peter
Just got this car and graffiti is on it already???!??
New ADM intermountain trinity 5161 with blma 100ton trucks/z scale body mount couplers. Still more graffiti/weathering will happen.
Agreed.
Cheers, Ed
M R & T #68 last seen heading west on The Milwaukee Road, is now heading east from the Powder River basin on a BN coal train.

I’ve been making Athearn B/Box style boxes for some Accurail 3-Bay Hoppers I intend to use for hauling Potash. I need these to be boxed and stored.
A European A3 sheet measures 297mm high x 420mm wide (11.7" x 16.5") and since I was copying the ACF Hopper kit box, a Flat Pattern Lid or Tray would use a whole sheet of 1mm Card and leave a lot of waste.
So I cut across the 11.7" height leaving slightly shortened ends, but still long enough to allow for Kadee Couplers - and I can get a Lid & Tray from 1 sheet.
The Tray has to be 3/16" - 1/4" less in length.
The box is assembled as per Athearn using Picture-frame Tape, making sure it is the type that will stick to itself, if there are any overlaps.
I have previously made 25 of these for my Roundhouse models and there are only another 10 required after this one. Watch this space for lots more WPF.
Paul.
