I like your Union Station model, Jeff!

That is a great scene, Jeff. I use that same building to model Dearborn Station in downtown Chicago. What a beautiful building.

That building is huge! Love it

Thanks guys. Yeah, its BIG! occupies a lot of real estate. I did detail/light the waiting room interior nearest the aisle. I figured it was a waste of time/materials to do the rest of the interior as it can’t be seen.

Jeff, any chance you can share a few more photos of that portion of your layout?

I was too lazy to go down and measure that building on my layout, but I looked up the dimensions of the Walthers Cornerstone Milwaukee Everett Street Station - 25 L x 8 D x 22 H and some fractions.

Very nice work love how it fits in your city,I got that station too when we had to wait for each Hiawatha car to come out that was quite along time ago I need to replace some pieces on it though

Rich, here are a few more photos of the area around the Station. Please ignore the body lying on the sidewalk next to the Richfield Bus. Guess she got tired of waiting for the bus to arrive. Hob-E-Tac doesn’t always do the job, something to keep in mind when placing figures. There is a second figure lying down on the job INSIDE the Station waiting area, which is now totally inaccessible. I should have thought to secure those indoor figures with CA, just to be safe. Oh well…

Jeff, those are great photos, and your layout is outstanding. I really like the look of those scenes.

As far as the deceased pedestrian is concerned, have you launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her demise?

Thanks for the additional photos. I would love to learn more about your layout.

Ok. It’s not what anybody would expect. But I’m an eccentric crackpot! I bought these 20 years ago in Thailand to run in my hotel room since I was 10,000 miles away from my real trains.

From one eccentric crackpot to another!

Hey! Do I spot the two volumes of the Euclid Beach books in the background :star_struck:

Fond memories there! A family friend would invite us to the Cleveland Twist Drill company picnics. We lived on Eddy Road only a mile or two away.

Cheers, Ed

I showed my wife your posts. She grew up in Euclid, on East 208th, a block from the lake. She graduated Euclid High in 1970. She has that same book! I hear about Euclid Beach often.

She left to go to college, and while she was away, her father was put in charge of opening a southeast branch of the company in Atlanta. Her parents moved south, and my wife has never been back to Cleveland. I offer each year to drive her there to see the sights, but she really does not want to go back.

Yes. I feel the same in going back to old places. They never feel the same.

I missed Euclid Beach by a couple of weeks. I worked at Cedar Point from June of 1988 to October of 1991. I also have fond memories of Sea World of Ohio. By the way they’re going to move the Euclid Beach arch away from the apartment complex it’s been in front of since the late 70’s to an actual park down the street where the pier is.

York! Tell your wife that the Euclid Beach carrousel is restored and operating at the Western Reserve Historical Society museum. You can even rent it for parties!

Too much paperwork involved in launching an investigation Rich. Far easier just to put new Hob-E-Tac on the figure and restore her to the land of the standing.
