Let’s dust off the photos, Folks!
Please post any recent or favorite photos you might have for us to enjoy.

Here’s a recent one I posed to answer someone’s question regarding the Miller Neon signs.

Thanks for the info!

Well I have to add this. It showed up in the mail this week and for those that missed it in the Diner our good friend Dave wanted me to have his plough and the rest of the train to boot. I am deeply touched by his gift.

To my mind it is the “Little scenes” like this one that make a layout stand out. Well done, Sir.

Thank you to all the contributors, so far, for sharing your really Good Stuff!

Cheers, the Bear. :slightly_smiling_face:

Peter, you do a great job weathering those freight cars, especially the box cars.

Thank you! Yeah theres a few little scenes to catch along the river. Theres a girl laying on a inflatable raft in the still waters in his line of sight.

Here is this week’s completed models!

First Up, a Tangent PS1 40’ Combo Door Boxcar kit, painted with Scalecoat II #2 Boxcar Red paint and lettered with Mask Island decals. These type of cars were used for lumber loading with the wide door opening and could be used in grain service due to the plug door.

Next a Walthers 89’ Flat car kit painted with Scalecoat II ATSF Red paint and lettered with various Herald King sets. The DT&I acquired these cars in the late 70’s from returned cars of the Providence and Waorchester, the DT&I left most of all the original lettering but painted over the reporting marks and the herald and added their reporting marks. These cars usually ran on the Rail Blazer from Detroit to Cincinnati. I added a couple of trailers I had painted earlier.

Last week we had an op session on the Strongsville Club layout, here are my models of a GP35 and C-424 along with a caboose ready to be called out for a train.

Have a great weekend!

Real nice work love the layout scene

About a week ago I happened to notice that the Rapido ‘new-and-improved’ TurboTrains were arriving soon. I sent off a quick order to TrainWorld and lo and behold the UPS truck was in my driveway yesterday!

I saw the TurboTrain when it was on the National Tour in 1971 when it stopped in Cleveland and rode it about two years later out of GCT to New Haven (fare was $4.25!).

Just something FUN to run on the layout and rekindle some 50-year old memories!
