Weymouth quay, Weymouth

Way back in time Dawn, I and our newborn son travelled to Guernsey, Channel Islands. To get there we caught the ferry to Guernsey at Weymouth Quay.
Amazing imo.

Speaking of old films, I stumbled upon this archive a few years ago. I linked a video of Christmas in Dublin 1962 (that’s what I was looking for at the time) but I wonder what railroad or toy train films they have.

For example…

Amazing all right! That’s some of the most impressive street running I’ve ever seen!

Interesting films! I was struck by the fact the narration in the Christmas film was in Gaelic. I believe at the time then-Irish president Eamonn DeValera was trying to revive Gaelic as the Irish national language but didn’t have much success.
The second film? Jeez, the phrase “something else” doesn’t even begin to describe THAT train! :open_mouth:
Thanks for posting those Becky!

Yeah, that contraption was just a wee bit too far ahead of it’s time

I had not realized just how badly little line and surface defects in the running-rail structure would affect running of the locomotive!
