What are the options for backdrop buildings

I’ve put together a backdrop for my Chicago Union station scene: painted the sky and mounted a retaining wall at the bottom. I need to add some pictures of urban buildings along the backdrop. What are the major choices in terms of printed backdrop scenes? I don’t need specific Chicago buildings, just core urban scenes (some skyscrapers, etc.). At this point, I think I prefer drawn scenes as opposed to photos but would consider both. What are the main options?

Thanks.

Brad

Depending on how deep your pockets are you might wnat to look at the products available from Backdrop Warehouse at http://backdropwarehouse.com and Walthers Instant Horizons or Instant Buildings.

These are nice backdrop buildings from a little known company

Another little known source for background and solid buildings is

www.westportmodelworks.com

I just purchased the prints to assemble the New Haven Union Station and it is truly a work of art. Every Brick, in HO scale, yet.

I made my own - which you can see in the pic below. Take a digital camera and take shots of the area you want to model, print them out on a color printer and post them to the backdrop, they look great. Cost 0.

Detailing of the middle, beige building in their ad has to be one of the strangest I’ve ever seen. It has scuppers (a portion of the roof drain system) situated at every floor level of the building! Remove the auxillary scuppers and it would make a pretty good background structurer, however.

I do like some of the other separate detail parts they offer.
