Hello everyone,
I am in need of your help in finding the right, most accurate paints that would match those of these two E7A “E” diesel locomotive units in the two tone maroon & whitish gray maine central scheme (inspired by the rock island style scheme) and the yellow striped with pine green scheme (this is an N scale version as I could not find an HO picture, or even if BLI released one).
What could and would the best matching colours be to use?
e

You don’t seem to be having much luck here, but you might want to ask BLI about the paint they used, or what they asked the factory in China to use.
If you have the locomotives on-hand, it shouldn’t be that difficult to come up with a self-mixed match. It’s also good to keep in mind that paint changes as it ages, due to both weather and accumulated dust and dirt. Even locomotives painted in the same shop and on the same day might look quite different after 3 or 4 years in service…especially if they ran in different areas.

Hi Docterwayne, good to hear from you again. I cant blame the forum, as they might would not know either. I contacted Broadway Limited Imports about it asking them so I should hear from them.
I learned that the MEC E7s in Maroon & whitish gray with yellow stripes hauled a streamlined train on the Maine Central and Bostan and Maine called the Kennebec. I cant find any good real photos of it in colour, only in black and white. The only colour I found was in illustrations, such as this one below in a lithograph of it hauling the Kennebec passanger train.

The pine green scheme E7 on the other hand, being what you said varys by colour and fade on the colour as times goes on, so I will have to choose my choice of shade to use.
