What decoder is to be used for SD60M P2K unit?

I just need to know what decoder do I choose for the P2K SD60M UP unit I just got. It is my first Proto 2000 engine so I do not have a clue and it looks kinda weird up there. It is a HO scale. Thanks in advance.

Check Tony’s Train Exchange or give them a phone call and they can tell you what you need. http://www.tonystrains.com

Along with Tony’s, you can contact Like Like and ask them what their recommendations are for that particular locomovitve.

Digitrax H163 LO this one you don’t need to put in resistors for the lights.

Thanks Cspmo. I just went to my favorite site Litchfield Station because they are always a few dollars cheaper than Tonys and Tony I do not like anymore since I met him this past weekend. Anyway I ordered the Digitrax DH163LO and it was $24.00. It is on its way to me in a matter of days. Thanks yall

Hello Biggie

Hope you don’t mind my asking…But you met Tony, and don’t like him anymore? What happened? [:0] I hope that he didn’t snub you or blow you off.

Sometimes this does happen with people that have too many things on their mind at once. Though, if a vendor “blatantly” blows me off, he or she won’t get my hard earned money.

Even though I communicate with Bruce from Litchfield Station regarding DCC questions, I’ve always heard and read that Tony is a pretty cool guy.

Hey Antonio I really like to deal with Bruce from Lichfield. I was at the Springfield Train show and went to Tonys TRain and he was very rude to other customers I was watching him myself. He was pretty weird and was not trying to hear anyones deals they were trying to strike up. People were trying to talk to him. I remember one Young man trying to ask him a question and Tony was like “I am in the middle of something you will have to wait till I get time to deal with you” He did not say it nicely then just turned around and ignored him for the time I was standing there. I was like whoa. I then tried to bargain just a few dollars compared to someone elses prices there on a Athearn Soundtraxx decoder and he said no and that I was lying about the price and he was the cheapest. So I said some other words and left. I Went to the Railroad Depot from Boston and bought my decoder for $97 with the speaker. A deal Tony could not touch. I brought it back to him and made sure he saw the receipt. HE was pissed after that. But Aww well even if he matched the price I would not have bought from him after I saw him in action.
Now Bruce, Bruce is da man. I go to him for all my needs for DCC. Plus I can easily pay with Paypal.com. I like that guys place much better. I even bought my Lenz Set-100 from him a year ago.

Wow!

Thanks Biggie.

That is a tragic shame! Even if Tony was a little stressed, a quick smile with a “O.K, just give me a few minutes…” is an old line that still shows potential customers some courtesy! His arrogant attitude towards you was inexcusable. Suggesting that you were a “liar?” That’s lacking in respect!

Your experience stirs up some of my memories. Years past, before I got married I was living with my parents and even after helping them I would sometimes have $300 in my pocket (No more!). Yet, I would be snubbed by vendors from time to time. A line I learned to use was: “Wow! I apologize for wasting your time! I guess I’ll take my $300 that I budgeted for my hobby and spend it somewhere else.” Take care!

Your experience is a great example of the warning given to newbie sales reps at high end car dealerships: " Watch how you treat ALL potential customers. You never know who you’re dealing with!" [;)][8D]
