Looks good to me.!!!
Dear staff members,
Congratulations on a great initiative of yours to bring us all model train lovers together!
I just discovered that you even had forums, so I guess I’m going to need to familiarize myself a little more on HOW to us it properly. I find it a bit confusing to work with it. Somewhat harder than the Yahoo forums.
Keep up the great work

I do not like having to log in each time to look at the daily newswire. The log in has a box to “remember me” but it doesn’t seem to remember me like the previous forum did.
pretty confusing but maybe someday I’ll be smart enough to figure it out. Nothing personal, but everyone seems to assume “we” are all computer literate. It’s a struggle for me but am learning slowly.
By chance are you using different computers or the same one?
If you are using the same account on different computers you’ll encounter this problem as you alternate computers. For example, you login at home and then login at work, you’ll have to login again when you visit from home.
I will not bore you with the technical reasons why it was done this way, but I’ll simply say it’s to make your accounts more secure.
I have a question overall-why does the site shut down for a while? Seems a number of times when I watch the webcam or look at the forums, the whole site bites the dust and nothing works. This is especially possible to occur at peak use times. Just how many people look at this site at one time?
We’ve been tweaking parts of the site since we went live with the changes last week. I expect the fixes that went in this afternoon will take care of the problems.
It’s about time Kalmbach and Co. finally put together a decent web forum. That old one was the absolute worst I’ve ever seen. It was glacier-like in speed, and I got real tired of having to click link after link after link to read a whole thread, not to mention that most posters could not even be identified.
In short, I am very happy that the leader in railroad publishing finally changed to a usable forum that is bound to become a very popular place given their visibilty in the hobby.
Heck, look at Atlas. They have a very busy place and they don’t even advertise it. Imagine what this site could become if it got mentioned in Trains and MR from time to time…

well its better…dont have to use the code
I think they’re good, but how do you post your picture? I think that an upload feature from picture folders (Windows users) would be great.
A whole of a lot better than the old one. The most aggrivating was having to click to see the whole thread. Made it very difficult to reply to a few posts with a single response. greatly improved. I had always refrained from posting before due to the nature of the forum.
I like what I see and have no problems so far.
will take some getting used to have just started seeing them and hold passing judgement for the time being
much faster response than the old one, although the way the links showed before you could tell if someone was responding specifically to you, or just the general topic.
I like the photo looks great.
