What does "BNSF&NS" mean? Or CSXT&UP?(In your OWN words).

I still like “BUY NORFOLK SOUTHERN FAST”!
[bow]BNSF[bow]

Ok! Now what about “CSXT&UP” too[:D]?
I still haven’t come up with a good for those two.
Come on People lets hear it.
Oh ya don’t forget about the other Railroads too.
Remember this is only a JOKE! & Don’t take it Serious!

Means nothing. Don’t buy it.

Hmmm…Union Pacific sounds good to me. I dont think anyone will ever git rid of that name. It’s impossible. They could merge or buy CP, CN, CSX, BNSF, CSX, and NS and still be UP!

maybe a haulage agreement but by no means a merger.

It means a significant step toward government ownership of the rail industry to me.

Gabe

Well, NS is already the two middle letters of BNSF but maybe if they ever merged, you would have a BN again…Burlington-Norfolk. Dave Williams http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nsaltoonajohnstown

In the present: Interline treaties between Corporations, mabe a joint venture or two. The current climate of the Surface Transportation Board would not be that friendly. For the Future I would see someting close to a holding company with seperate operating companies. Anti Trust, Interstate Commerce and competitive questions would have an impact. Best case, a holding company, Worst case Government ownership and questions as to the viability of private property to everyone called American. Railroads are one of the great examples of success gained in the private ownership of property (read real estate). I would hate to think that ownership would streach to far as to endanger a private enterprise. By the way, I own some Norfolk Southern.

Let’s not forget that CSX and NS are still “reeling” from buying Conrail.

It means one too many mergers.

Since my ignorance hasn’t stopped me from delivering an opinion in the past: that ship has already sailed. I think the last round was one too many.

But, then again, I think there were some companies–SP in particular–who would not have made it absent the merger. Once SP goes, the dominos start to fall where they are now. In any event, I hope there are no more.

Gabe

Ix-nay…[%-)] but thats news to me.[:D][(-D]

BNNS or NSSF. Also you get CSUP with CSX and UP or UCSX.

BNSF has already been mentioned,I wouldn’t touch CSX with a 10 foot pole.
Nazi Southern. Unlimited Parking or Utterly Pathetic.

No doubting your loyalties

You could theoretically get “SUX” out of a UP-CSXT merger. Hmmm…[:D]

Bought Norfolk Southern First, & Now we’re Saved

Best New Strategy For Not Sinking

Actually NS seems to have recovered much better than CSX since the merger, Initially, NS fared worse than CSX with all the computer glitches, crews outlawing…etc, now NS seems to have recovered nicely. Another scenario for a merger would allow the BNSF Name to stay intact on locomotives and rolling stock. Burlington Norfolk-Sante Fe. Dave Williams http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nsaltoonajohnstown

BNSF&NS would mean I’d probably have to move again, or at least find something else to do that wouldn’t kill my “current connection” when it comes time to collect Tier II.

I vote no.
